Wim caught a great break with K's Choice and left the band (good luck buddy). He was replaced by Pieterjan.
NOV 2014The 2014 full length album 'forlorn'. Songs from the heart of depression. Get it here.
MAY 2014Herwig left the band to pursue other avenues and we have found a great replacement in Marc Rosso.
MAR 2014The new album mixed by Herwig Sheck at 'Prunes & Spoons' studio and master by Tom Lodewyckx at Tomusic.be
FEB 2014Shooting and release 'Giant Killer' video – here’s some making of footage.
MAY 2013Working on the new album, it became clear that we could do with some keyboards. Jonas was the best and obvious choice.
MAR 2012QUIET tracked 'Giant Killer' and had the song mixed by Huub Reijnders at Studiozeezicht.nl. Good man. Great sound. Thanks.
FEB 2012The band is no longer called ‘a school of QUIET’. It’s just QUIET now.
JAN 2013Some metal rehearsals for a .calibre successor in the summer of 2012. We’ll see where that leads.
AUG 2012Some new demos for a new album online at vi.be/quiet since april 2012. Working on a new album. Slowly, but certainly.
APR 2012The ‘Handmade Record’ was released. Download it here, it’s free.
The sound shifted to more experimental alternative music. Igor started feeling out of place and we decided to go our separate ways. [Thanks for the great years, Igor.] His spot was filled by Herwig Scheck (and he has proven to be absolutely bonkers). More experiments.
Davy Deckmijn left the band for other obligations and to pursue more personal ambitions. [Thanks for all the laughs amigo. Keep it up.]
Wim Van Der Westen (Sara Bettens, Concrete, Kane, …) joined the band in the summer of 2008. Practicing the set with him, made it clear quite quickly that more experimental doors were opening to asoQ. We retracked all the songs in studio Gyraf.be.
In April and May 2007, LOTUS EATER was aired for a couple of weeks on STUBRU’s Volt (hosted by Nadiem Shah & Manu Lammens). Thanks for the support.
In the summer of 2006, Peter Vandergoten (sound designer and founder of 4ears.be) helped us with extensive mobile recordings for the demo on various locations (loads of fun).
Mario Goossens (Triggerfinger) guided us with some early demo work.
After a couple of months of rehearsing, and throwing out the initial songs asoQ started developing a highly mixed style – twisted and stubborn alternative rock.
FEB 2006
After the .calibre split, Daniel Mies (vocals) and Niko Poortmans (guitar) teamed up with Davy Deckmijn (drums – Zornik/Tom Helsen/Nona Mez) to form a new Belgian band called “a school of QUIET”.
Igor Jansen (bass) joined the band shortly after. He used to play in various bands with Davy, some cover bands, also in DayGlowSuit.
